INSURANCE COMPANY REQUIRED THIS ROOF TO BE SOFT WASHED

We recently received a call from Dawsonville, GA homeowners who asked for our roof cleaning service because their homeowners insurance company was now requiring it to be soft washed. According to the letter they received, they had 30 days to comply or their insurance policy would be canceled. They provided an aerial view of the roof of the house and shed which showed dark discoloration from algae growth. The reason given by the insurance company was that the algae growth would shorten the lifespan of the shingles, so therefore would no longer be covered. As you can see in the before and after pictures of the front and back views of the roof, it did have a heavy build up of algae growth.

We arrived at their home the following day in order to meet their deadline. We applied our soft washing solution (using low pressure) to the roof and allowed it to dwell. This removed most of the algae growth, but a few areas required a second round. Within 3 hours their roof was algae free and as clean as new. The homeowners were very happy and promptly sent the roof cleaning invoice to the insurance company, along with photos that we provided.
